Why Am I Doing This?

I’ve been ranting and raving about varying topics on Facebook for several years and like many other bloggers I have been encouraged to publish my own page.  So here it is.

My job has me traveling across the United States pretty extensively and we enjoy traveling on a personal level as well,  it is amazing when you Shhh… the hell up and watch and listen just how much you learn about people as a whole and as individuals.  How giving some are and how unbearably rude and/or selfish others may be.  People never stop surprising me and at the same time nothing surprises me.

On top of my work travel I’ve had the pleasure of working in disease-specific health care initiatives on The Hill in the past and I’ve been a patient advocate in varying capacities for more than 15 years.  I keep up with politics.  I would not call myself Expert Level but I’d call myself a notch or three below that.  I believe deeply that as a society we should multi-source our information and actually RE-learn to listen.  We’re not that far apart and yet still light years apart.  Methinks social and personal dichotomy will be a theme of my blog and that all of those influences put me squarely in the middle.  Sometimes left, sometimes right, but mostly floating around seeking compromise.

I have learned both in travel, people watching, work, life, and growing up under two extremely polarized parents that I love this world and its inhabitants and if my ramblings can somehow open a dialogue that we’re taking steps in the right direction.
